BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 A.M.) – The U.S. Coalition killed several civilians near the Iraqi border-crossing in Deir Ezzor on Tuesday, while they were attempting to target the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions inside the town of Abukamal.

According to local activists, the U.S. Coalition killed 23 civilians during the attack on Abukamal yesterday, including 10 children and 5 women.

The local activists claimed via their social media accounts that the U.S. airstrikes struck a densely populated housing block in Abukamal that was known to have Iraqi refugees staying there.

Tuesday’s attack in Abukamal by the U.S. Coalition marked the first time this week that their air force struck this part of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
Syrian media network Al Masdar News broke the story Tuesday.
