Israel BANS Rep Omar From Entering Country, Hints She’s Terror Security Risk

Israel denied Congresswoman Omar and Congresswoman Tlaib entry into the country over the summer, for what is being now called a terror related security reason. It’s unprecedented for a member of congress to be banned from a western country for a security risk.

“I would encourage my colleagues to visit, meet with the people we were going to meet with, see the things we were going to see, hear the stories we were going to hear,” Omar told reporters in a news conference. “We cannot let Trump and Netanyahu succeed in hiding the cruel reality of the occupation from us.”

Illhan Omar was especially furious at the move, and blames President Trump, who warned the Prime Minister of Israel not to let the women in.

President Trump tweeted that it would be a show of weakness to let the two representatives into the country. They were going to Israel to travel to Palestine and promote what they call an occupation by the Israeli forces.

What is most infuriating for the congresswomen is that Rep Tlaib was granted a visa by the Israeli government to visit her grandmother.

After her visa was granted, she tweeted that she would not let Israel use her grandmother as tool to make her “bow down to their oppressive & racist policies”. Saying that didn’t go over well. President Trump went on the offensive after the tweet, saying that “it would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel and all Jewish people, and there is nothing that be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace!”

Hours after President Trump’s tweet, Israel then pulled the visa and barred both representatives entry.

“those who reject our right to exist in the world.” Said Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely in an interview with Radio Israel.

Israel’s law grants authority to the government to ban from entry anyone who supports anti Israeli movements, whether violent or passive aggressive. Both Reps openly called for boycotts of Israel and Israeli goods over their treatment of Palestine.

Netanyahu had said after the ban that they “planned a visit whose sole objective is to strengthen the boycott against us and deny Israel’s legitimacy.”

Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi weighed in on the controversy, saying in a released statement that she was “deeply saddened by the news” and “prays that the Government of Israel will reverse” [its denial].

  1. I agree that those 2 should NOT BE ALLOWED into Israel. They cannot be trusted. They have been very outspoken about their hatred for the Jewish ppl and Israel.
