The Radical Left Battles to Erase American History

Liberal activists across the country have spent the last few weeks taking advantage of frustration over recent police shootings to target and vandalize American monuments. There have long been calls to get rid of references to the confederacy from the public space by liberals, however its becoming clear that Confederate history isn’t the end of what they want to erase. Its American history as a whole.

The vocal majority of liberals today see America as an oppressive racist regime that cannot be repaired without condemning or erasing its past entirely. All of the monuments put up by our government are honoring the perpetrators of systemic racism in their eyes. Any progress or achievement that came out of our past is apparently too stained by racism to be worth remembering.

Ironically a statue of abolitionist Matthias Baldwin was defaced in Philadelphia as well. Ignorant protesters saw a statue of a white man and automatically labeled him a racist, a colonizer, a murderer. The point being that to the left context doesn’t matter at all. Americas past is inescapably racist. And more than that its unforgivable.

There are calls for politicians in liberal cities across the country to remove statues of historical American figures like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, or George Washington and unfortunately many of these politicians are likely to act. This movement of tearing down our past wont end when the rioting stops. Not a single monument erected before the 21st century will be safe if this trend continues.
