Romney has been banned from major Conservative group after impeachment kerfuffle

Sorry Mitt, but you’re not welcome to CPAC anymore.

What is CPAC? Well it’s the largest gathering of Republicans in the country. It’s held every year and usually is the place where beloved conservative figures and politicians give speeches. Mitt even headed up the events when he ran for President, and prior to it.

Unfortunately, they have deemed him insufficiently conservative after voting to extend Trump’s impeachment trial by asking for more witnesses.

Romney has always had a tough relationship with conservatism and with the President. When he was governor he was a liberal Republican. When he ran in 2008 he rebranded as a conservative. Few saw through his craven act. Afterwards, he ran in 2012 against real conservatives as a moderate trying to use his wedding cake groom looks to convince Americans that they needed a business leader, when in reality his business experiences were precisely the wrong ones to appeal to Americans going through a recession. After the election, he became a Trump critic, until of course, he needed to cut that out if he wanted to win a Senate seat in deep red Utah. Once he won, he settled on being a Trump critic again, and now he’s banned from CPAC.
